The host family experience is a unique aspect of the JCC Maccabi Games® and ArtsFest® and an integral part of the participant’s experience.
The hospitality offered by local Jewish families makes visiting athletes and artists feel at home. Host families including family members of all ages have the opportunity to experience the Games and ArtsFest on a personal level by enjoying a special relationship with these athletes & artists that often extends years beyond the event.
JCC Maccabi Housing Hotline
Athletes are expecting “reasonable” sleeping accommodations, (i.e. separate bed, cot or air mattress). Athletes cannot share a bed.
The JCC is able to provide air mattresses if needed. Email [email protected]
Absolutely no overnight sleepovers or switching of homes is allowed. In addition, athletes are not allowed to go to the hotels
of parents, Delegation Heads or Coaches. These are sanctioned offenses and may result in a participant being sent home.
Host Family Night is an opportunity for you to show off our great community. Athletes must be under your supervision at all times during this evening.
You will be responsible for the following meals:
• Breakfast Monday – Friday
• Dinner on Sunday prior to Opening Ceremonies
• Dinner for Host Family Night
• Snacks after evening pick-up
All other meals, as well as daytime snacks, are provided to the teens by the JCC. All food served by the JCC is strictly kosher.
Many teens will want to wash uniforms and Maccabi t-shirts frequently. Please offer to assist as they may be too shy to ask.
You will be asked to attend a host family orientation meeting in May or June 2019 at the JCC and fill out an online registration and background check when the site goes live in January 2019.
This is an incredible opportunity to be at the heart of the JCC Maccabi Experience.
